Retail Banking Network Executive
Professional Experience and Responsibilities
Larry Franco is the Head of the Retail Network for BBVA USA, where he is responsible for the strategic management of the bank’s retail branches and all associated impacts. As the Retail Banking Network Executive, Franco oversees more than 4,500 team members and all branches across the bank’s seven-state footprint. He also oversees the bank’s remote banking capabilities, its Bank at Work program, the Mortgage Sales division and Retail Brokerage. Franco is a member of the bank’s management committee. An accomplished executive leader with over two decades of practical retail banking experience, Franco started his career as an in-store retail banker at Wells Fargo Bank in 1997, eventually progressing to Branch Manager. Franco transitioned to J.P. Morgan Chase where he held three different leadership positions within the retail bank. In 2007, Franco transitioned to then Compass Bank as a District Retail Executive and has since held various leadership roles, including West Region Consumer Segment Executive, Regional Retail Executive for South Texas and Retail Banking Segment Executive.
Professional and Community Activities
Franco is a member of the board for Junior Achievement of South Texas and the Consumer Bankers Association.
Franco holds an Associate of Arts in Foundations of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. Franco is a graduate of IESE Business School’s Corporate Management Program (Aranjuez, Spain, 2011), and a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Program (Boston, MA, 2019).
