In recent years, the demand for multifamily housing relative to single-family housing has peaked, as younger Millennials opt to rent in densely populated cities. As downsizing Boomers transition to these properties, the market for multifamily homes will continue to intensify—a significant future trend given the size of this cohort. Among older Millennials starting families, single-family housing will continue to remain strong.
