Simple accounts automatically transitioned to BBVA USA on May 8, 2021

To access your new account, the first thing to do is log into your online banking. Your Simple Checking account(s) is now BBVA Simple Checking and your Protected Goals Account(s) is now BBVA Simple Savings. 

Account fees and more waived for 60 days

We want to earn your trust. Which starts with saving you money. BBVA is proactively waiving account fees, ATM fees and more for 60 days.

Waivers include:

  • All BBVA fees to use non-BBVA ATMs
  • Debit Card replacement or Personalized Debit Card fees
  • Insufficient Funds Charges (NSF)–Returned Item fee
  • Insufficient Funds Charges (NSF)–Paid Item fee
  • ACH transfer fees
  • Wire transfer fees
  • Stop payments fees
  • Paper Statement Fee

BBVA will also be refunding any fees you received since the May 8 Simple transition.

These fee waivers will expire on July 7, 2021. A reminder will be sent out closer to the expiration
day.

The waivers do not include fees charged by other Financial Institutions or other ATM networks. They
also do not include subsequent services from BBVA, such as safety deposit boxes or cashier's checks.

 

Please note some transactions will generate an automated message alerting you to a fee. These alerts cannot be deactivated, and the fees are actually part of our 60 day waiver. You will not be charged for these fees during the waiver period.

How to avoid the paper statement fee

As a BBVA customer you’ll get paper statements (we’re waiving the monthly $3 dollar fee for the first 60 days). Don’t want paper statements? Here’s all you have to do :

  • In BBVA Online Banking, go to the Service Center–there you can select to opt out. You’ll be prompted to do this when you Login. 
  • In BBVA Mobile Banking, open your BBVA Simple Checking account and select Display More Options and then Stop Paper Statements.
