HOW IT WORKS:
- Open a qualified BBVA Business Checking account for your nonprofit either online or at a branch location.
- Enroll in the BBVA For Your Cause program by visiting a branch location.
- Encourage supporters to open a BBVA consumer checking account.1 Every new, qualified checking account earns you a one time $50 royalty payment.2
- Start earning royalties when your supporters use their BBVA Visa® Debit Card on qualifying purchases. Every qualified purchase made by a member using their Debit Card earns you a .25% royalty deposit based on the purchase amount.
BBVA For Your Cause really adds up for nonprofits
Let’s say for example, that you have 100 supporters who open qualified BBVA consumer checking accounts. Then those supporters use their BBVA Debit Cards to make $500 in qualifying purchases each month for one year. Here’s what they could do for your fundraising.
100 members x $50 (checking account openings) = $5,000 initial royalty payments2
100 members x $500 (qualifying purchases) x 12 months x .25% = $1,500 additional royalties
Annual total: $6,500
BBVA has the products and services your supporters will appreciate
When your supporters combine a BBVA Savings account or BBVA Online Savings account with a BBVA checking account, they’ll earn interest on their savings balances. Plus, they’ll get the security of overdraft protection. Applying can be done online and there’s a $25 minimum opening deposit.
