4 ways to market your business when you can't leave home

For many, there's no guarantee of face-to-face contact with customers, which means coming up with contactless ways to market to your target audience. Here are four tactics to get you started.
1. Try email marketing
Even if you haven't built an email list in the past, this could be the time to try. While email has been around for a while, people aren't tired of it yet. Research from Adobe shows that people spend 5.4 hours each weekday checking emails. More importantly, 61% of consumers like to get email from brands.
If you want to give your emails the best chance of getting a response, here's a pro tip: Keep them short. An Aweber study of 1,000 emails from 100 top marketers reports that the average length of an email is 434 words, but shorter emails get an even better response.
2. Run a webinar
If your key customers are other businesses, you may want to consider webinars instead of in-person events. According to the Content Marketing Institute, they're a key way to attract and convert leads.
Webinars give you the chance to meet potential customers face to face—sort of. They let you showcase your expertise, products and services, and answer customers' questions. In fact, you can use common questions as a starting point for your ﬁrst webinar.

3. Increase your interactivity
Interactive content is always a winner, especially with people spending more time on mobile devices. According to the Content Marketing Institute and Ion Interactive, interactive infographics, contests and calculators are among the most popular ways to increase engagement and brand awareness.

4. Be present 24/7 (chatbots can help)
In uncertain times, customers want to count on you more than ever. And since people are spending more time at home, they may reach out to you at unusual times. If you can't be online 24 hours a day—and who can?—you can use technology to connect with customers no matter when they need you.
Chatbots are applications that work inside messaging apps to respond automatically to queries from customers. For example, you can have a chatbot let customers know when next you'll be online. Or you can suggest resources based on the question they type in.
